With the news of Xander Bogaerts signing an eleven year, $280 million contract with the San Diego Padres in the early hours of Thursday morning, it’s easy to overlook the signing that the Red Sox actually DID make just a few hours prior on Wednesday night.

The Red Sox gave Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida to a five year, $90 mlllion contract, in addition to a $15 million international posting fee.

While the signing may have been swept under the rug after the midnight madness surrounding Bogaerts, let us familiarize you with some of what Yoshida is capable on the field. Do you want to sit here and focus on the negative, or do you want to see some dingers?!
