With the news of Xander Bogaerts signing an eleven year, $280 million contract with the San Diego Padres in the early hours of Thursday morning, it’s easy to overlook the signing that the Red Sox actually DID make just a few hours prior on Wednesday night.
The Red Sox gave Japanese outfielder Masataka Yoshida to a five year, $90 mlllion contract, in addition to a $15 million international posting fee.
