  • Felger thinks Lamar Jackson to the Patriots is a possibility

Felger: Lamar Jackson, I think the thing is alive. I think there’s a chance. Because I think the market’s coming to them. I mean, this is coming into, you know, where they want to do business, which is it’s a distressed asset. I know that sounds silly when he’s going to make $40 million a year, but, now it feels really hard for him to go back to Baltimore when he openly was tweeting today that “I want a trade. I’ve requested a trade”. It’s hard to go back after that point.

Jim Murray: Do you know the timeline of these tweets, too?

    Felger: No, I don’t.

Jim Murray: He put them out just as John Harbaugh started talking. It’s great. He did it spitefully. Like, you know, he’s going to have to be asked about these because these tweets are going to blow up the Internet.

Felger: So, listen, I don’t think Lamar Jackson has the market he thought he would get, obviously. He hasn’t even been brought in on a visit. I think that him going back to Baltimore, that door is closing and he might be running out. How many teams need a quarterback and would be willing to pay him? Now, I know this team in terms of paying them, that’s a big, big issue. But again, my intel was that Belichick is tired of Mac Jones and would love this guy That’s not Bill’s money, obviously. But until that’s dead, it ain’t dead. And I’d say nothing’s really disabused me of that notion.
