Zolak & Bertrand

On Zolak & Bertrand, Beetle declared that we can finally discuss the Patriots possibly landing Lamar Jackson.

  • It's okay now...

Marc Bertrand: We had talked about this a month ago. Bill goes to ownership and says, I want to move on from Mac Jones. I want to trade him. We said, well, ownership would probably get in the way of that one. They’d probably be opposed to that.

    Scott Zolak: Not yesterday.

Marc Bertrand: Right, isn’t that kind of what we said? What was the Tom E. Curran thing? Over his dead body thing. Was that about Mac Jones?

    Scott Zolak: Correct.

Marc Bertrand: Trading Mac Jones? Uh huh. Do we still think over his dead body he’d be allowed to trade Mac Jones? I don’t believe that anymore. That’s for sure. Not based on the owners saying, now Lamar Jackson wants to be here and it’s up to Bill (Belichick).

Hardy: Might stop short of death.

Marc Bertrand: May not require death, may not require a damn thing.

Scott Zolak: And it’s Meek Mill that’s done it all.

Marc Bertrand: I could never trade Mac Jones to the Raiders. That would never happen. Ownership would never allow for it. Well, turns out maybe they will allow for the movement of Mac Jones. Maybe they like the guy plenty and think he can be good, but they are wise enough to know there are better quarterbacks that exist in this league and if one is available, and the team can get them and that star player wants to be a New England Patriot by way of telling his friend Meek Mill, well then game on. Yeah, I think things have definitely been taken up a notch now since last week. And now I think everybody should admit it’s okay to talk about.
