Bertrand: Bruins will win Game 7 over Maple Leafs
The Bruins are headed for a Game 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs after blowing a 3-1 series in the first round of the playoffs for the second straight year. After a 2-1 loss in Game 6, it is looking like the B’s are going to follow a very familiar script. But, Marc Bertrand is taking an optimistic approach by predicting the the Bruins will win Game 7:
“The Leafs have choked and have that in their DNA”
“I think the Bruins are going to win tomorrow night. It has nothing to do with momentum. It has everything to do with the fact that the Leafs have choked and have that in their DNA, and this is going to be a race to the bottom in this series. Who can out-choke the other team more? Now the Bruins know what it is the Maple Leafs are going to do. They will have a day to regroup, they will have a day to figure this thing out.
“Between games they now have the time to figure this thing out. And I think they’re going to win the game, because I think, I think the Maple Leafs goalie situation blows. It pains me to hear them talk about the goalies for Toronto when you flip over to that national broadcast. I’m sorry, that dam is going to break at some point. The Bruins are going to figure out how to get more shots and more chances. And I think it’s going to happen at home in game seven. I do. Even though you get that sinking feeling that they’re going to blow it again. And we got that after the last game, and I had no hope for them to go on the road last night and win”
