Rich Shertenlieb: Now that Tom Brady has played his final game of the season and right now his contract’s up. Do you see any scenario in which Tom Brady would return to Foxborough and play for the Patriots?
Mike Reiss: It is fun to consider that part. Honestly, like, let’s hypothetical it out. What if Tom just had a moment where he’s like, I want to finish where I started, meaning here (New England). And let’s just say he reached out and said that. If you’re Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft, that would be the one scenario. I know I’ve said it’s all Mac and that’s what I would do and that’s what I think they’ll ultimately end up doing. But I think they would at least have to have a conversation on that.
Rich Shertenlieb: That is you’re saying the one scenario that you could see them actually moving on from Mac.
Mike Reiss: Like maybe and not even maybe just moving on. I mean, Macs in the third year of his contract and you could actually justify that. Again, it’s a hypothetical, but let’s say Tom called up and you’re going to do one year. You can say, look, Mac, we got this opportunity here that we never would have thought. We think it’ll actually benefit you being around him. Then you can almost try. I don’t know if it would work. I mean, hypothetically, but it’s of you could almost have the best of both worlds in that scenario.
