Patriots running back James White expected to miss remainder of 2021 season
The New England Patriots are expected to be without running back James White for the remainder of the 2021 season, according to the latest update from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Field Yates.
The absolute downer of an update from the ESPN tandem comes after further evaluation and after White was originally considered out ‘indefinitely’ following a subluxation of his hip in Sunday’s loss to the Saints.
The 29-year-old White exited Sunday’s loss after just one six-yard carry, and is now expected to finish the 2021 season with 38 rushing yards and catches on 12 of his 14 targets for 94 yards in three games.
With White on the shelf for the remainder of the season, the Patriots’ in-house options at running back include Damien Harris, Brandon Bolden, J.J. Taylor, and Rhamondre Stevenson.
The Patriots also hosted four running backs for workouts in the wake of White’s injury.
