Patriots injury report is good sign for status of Dont’a Hightower
The Patriots’ injury report listed seven players Wednesday, but linebacker Dont’a Hightower was not one of them.
Hightower didn’t play the Patriots’ final three defensive plays in a 17-16 loss to the Dolphins Sunday, after appearing to favor his left leg on the play prior to leaving the field (see the play via MassLive’s Chris Mason). But it looks like Hightower has avoided anything serious, because he was present at practice Wednesday and did not appear on the first injury report of Week 2 ahead of Sunday’s road tilt at the New York Jets.
Dont'a Hightower came up limping late in the 4th quarter and didn't return to the game.

Who did appear on the Patriots’ injury report? Right tackle Trent Brown is a new addition after leaving Sunday’s loss in the first quarter with what’s reported as a “minor” calf injury. Linebacker Kyle Van Noy is listed with a throat injury. Both Brown and Van Noy were non-participants. Safety Kyle Dugger was the third new name on the injury report with a wrist, but was listed as a full participant.
Four players remain from last week. Tackle Yodny Cajuste was limited as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury. Wide receiver Nelson Agholor and defensive back Jalen Mills were both listed with ankle injuries for the second week in a row, but both participated in full. Rookie linebacker Ronnie Perkins continues to be limited with a shoulder.
Here’s the complete Patriots injury report:
