Patriots CB Jonathan Jones appears to have avoided major injury
There’s a promising update on the health of Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones, based on a new report.
According to Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus, Jones suffered a “minor” injury during Thursday’s joint practice with the New York Giants. Per Kyed, the injury is described as “nothing significant.”
Jones had to visit the Patriots’ medical tent before leaving practice early after suffering the injury.
Though it appears that Jones’ injury won’t be long-term in nature, the Patriots have practice again Friday and their preseason finale coming up on Sunday against the New York Giants. It sounds like Jones will be hard-pressed to participate in either of those.
The Pats shored up their cornerback depth on Thursday by acquiring rookie cornerback Shaun Wade from the Baltimore Ravens.
