New England Patriots

Patriots second open OTA practice in 2021.

The New England Patriots took the field for another public practice on Thursday, as OTAs chugged along in Foxborough. Mandatory minicamp is on the horizon, and the Pats remain focused on teaching rather than evaluating.

But that doesn’t mean there weren’t some interesting moments to document as the Patriots went through their drills on the practice field Thursday morning. The must-see clip, thanks to 98.5 The Sports Hub’s own Alex Barth, was a pass from Mac Jones to tight end Hunter Henry. Was it a tiny glimpse of the near future?

Also worth watching were a pair of unheralded running backs, second-year pro J.J. Taylor and rookie Rhamondre Stevenson. Watch the two going through RB drills below.

We also got a look at a few key players at wide receiver, going through a simple drill with quarterback Jarrett Stidham. Here are Jakobi Meyers, N’Keal Harry, and Kendrick Bourne catching short passes.

BONUS: Here’s the start of Barth’s complete thread on the goings-on at OTAs on Thursday. Connect with him on Twitter for more updates from Foxborough.
