The New England Patriots on Tuesday officially signed their two lowest picks from the 2021 NFL Draft.
As confirmed on the NFL’s transaction wire and in a team press release, the Patriots have signed seventh-round pick Tre Nixon. New England selected the wide receiver out of Central Florida with the 242nd overall pick in the 2021 draft. Nixon is notable for being the final draft selection in the career of Ernie Adams, who recently announced his retirement from his former post as the Patriots’ Director of Football Research.
The Patriots also officially signed tackle William Sherman, whom the team drafted with the 197th pick in the sixth round. Sherman, 21, played 30 games at Colorado with 27 starts, and earned second team All-Pac 12 honors as a junior in 2020.
New England still has six more draft picks to sign before the 2021 season.
