New England Revolution Announce 2021 Opening Matches
Major League Soccer has announced its lineup of home openers for the 2021 season.
The New England Revolution will open the 2021 MLS campaign at Soldier Field, where the club will face Chicago Fire FC on Saturday, April 17th at 8:30pm, which will broadcast on 98.5 HD2.
New England then opens its 2021 home slate against D.C. United at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, April 24th at 8:00pm, which will be carried live on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
The complete 34-game regular season schedule will be announced at a later date.
For the home debut on April 24th, the Revolution plan to welcome a 12% capacity crowd, due to Massachusetts state COVID guidelines allowing large capacity venues, like Gillette Stadium, to host guests in a limited fashion.
This will mark the first time since last year’s season opener against Chicago Fire FC on March 7th that fans will be permitted to attend a match at Gillette Stadium.
The Revolution have secured points in all but four of their home openers (9-4-5) at Gillette Stadium, and own a 14-6-5 all-time record in opening games in Foxborough.
New England is set to open the season with an away match for the 13th consecutive year and for the 25th time in 26 seasons.
