As expected, Patriots punt returner Gunner Olszewski was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after a monster game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Olszewski racked up 145 return yards in the game, running one punt back for a 70-yard touchdown and nearly taking a second to the house in the Patriots’ 45-0 win. He also made a play as a wide receiver, catching a Jarrett Stidham pass for a 38-yard catch-and-run touchdown in garbage time. He even made a tackle in kickoff coverage.

MORE: The Gunner Olszewski Game
It felt like the touchdown was coming for Olszewski heading into the game. He nearly scored one against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12, but it was called back due to a penalty. Since an off game as a returner against the Houston Texans in Week 11, Olszewski has found another gear in the third phase.
