Rob Parker rips Tom Brady for throwing ‘only’ one touchdown against Chargers
Rob Parker is at it again. Sounds like he’ll never learn.
Pretty much everyone agrees that last Sunday’s 41-28 win over the Chargers was the most complete game of the season for the Patriots, and arguably Tom Brady’s best performance. He went 34-for-44 for 343 yards and a touchdown passing.
Apparently, Parker has a problem with Brady “only” throwing one TD, compared to the three rushing touchdowns for Sony Michel.
“It was Sony Michel’s day and they’re talking about Tom Brady, as always,” Parker said on FOX Sports Radio. “It’s always the same narrative. Sony Michel had three touchdowns, all in the first half, which buried the Chargers, and they’re talking about Tom Brady throwing six-yard dunks and dinks? That’s what they’re giving him credit for?
“He was only able to throw it because they opened up the passing game with the run. You know I’m right. Tom Brady had one touchdown — one touchdown — that was a mediocre performance other than all those yards.”
When Chris Broussard, whose specialty is the NBA, is the voice of reason in a debate with you, then you might be a bottom-of-the-barrel troll.
Broussard does his best to explain to Parker why Brady is “the straw that stirs the drink” in the Patriots offense, but Parker is having none of it. He’s been pushing his own narrative – that Tom Brady is overrated and/or the luckiest player of all time – for a long time and he’s not going to back off now.
The reality is, the Patriots offense was impeccable from top to bottom against the Chargers. The offensive line’s execution was in perfect sync. Michel ran hard and with good vision. Brady got rid of the ball quickly and took what the Chargers defense gave him (which was a lot). Oh and they scored 41 points.
You know, it would be interesting to hear what Parker thought of Patrick Mahomes’ performance against the Colts last Saturday. He threw for zero touchdowns. His only TD was a run. So if Brady only throwing one TD is mediocre then what does that make Mahomes?
Doesn’t really matter to Parker, most likely. He’ll keep figuring out ways to troll Brady and the Patriots at every turn.
