Bill Belichick Wears His Late Father’s Hat for Trip to Super Bowl LII
Bill Belichick is known for his hooded sweatshirt, often times with the arms cut off. So when he arrived in Foxboro this morning in a suit and tie, the media took notice.
The New England Patriots head coach’s attire was a brief side-conversation on social media and sports talk shows, but when Belichick added a hat upon landing in Minneapolis, the reaction ramped up a bit.

It’s a little disappointing that Belichick doesn’t cut off the sleeves of his suit jacket. #SBLII

Coach revealed the real reason behind his dapper headgear this evening to Willie McGinest on the NFL Network.
“That was my dad’s hat so I thought I’d just toss that one on today,” Belichick said. “I felt good about wearing it. Minnesota is a good place to have a hat, so it did the trick.”

Bill’s father’s hat certainly got reaction from all over New England, including his team. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady loved the coach’s fashion choice.
“He stepped his game up a lot, said Brady. “I thought it was a good look.”
