As rumors swirl all over about Tom Brady‘s future in football and his love life, he’s making it clear that his playing days are over.

Over the last few weeks, there’s been some steady momentum building towards a possible fit with the Raiders, due to Jimmy Garoppolo’s foot injury and Brady working on a deal to become minority owner of the club.

Even his former teammate and one of his closest friends in Rob Gronkowski kept the door open while talking about Brady’s future in the sport yesterday.

  • Now, Brady is putting his foot down on his decision harder than ever. No ifs, ands, or buts, just an acknowledge that the journey is over.

While appearing on Robin Lundberg’s podcast he explained his message to fans still holding out hope for a return, that “I’m certain I’m not playing again, so I’ve tried to make that clear and I hate to continue to profess that cause I’ve already told people that lots of times, but I’m looking forward to my broadcasting job at Fox next year.”

Will it be enough for some people to finally move on? Probably not. But each time Brady echoes the same message, it becomes more and more real.

  • On top of being sure he’s done, Brady even admitted he thinks he’ll feel relieved once the first kickoff the season rolls around. That doesn’t sound like the same man who used to eat, sleep, and breath football.

  • At least Patriots fans can look forward to Brady being the guest of honor at Gillette Stadium as the Patriots go up against the Eagles in Week 1.

With his playing career likely being over, this seems like the proper sendoff New England natives have been waiting years for.
