Jayson Tatum was the first Celtic to be named to the 2023 NBA All-Star Game, when he was revealed to be a starter last week. Then he was joined by Joe Mazzulla and the coaching staff, who were officially selected to work the game earlier this week. That wasn’t it though, as the Celtics are now getting another All-Star nod.

On Thursday night, the NBA announced the reserves for this year’s game. As expected, Jaylen Brown was included in that group.

  • This will be Brown’s second trip to the NBA All-Star Game. He also made it as a reserve in 2021.

Brown’s nod comes in the middle of what has been a career year for the 26-year-old forward. He is averaging a career-high 27 points per game while shooting another career-high 49.1 percent from the floor. He’s also currently on pace for another career-best averaging 7.1 rebounds per game.

The player pool for the game is set, but in what is a new feature for the game, the player draft will take place that night just before the game takes place. Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James were voted as the two captains.

This year’s NBA All-Star Game will be held on Sunday Feb. 19. The Utah Jazz will host in Salt Lake City.
