After a crushing defeat on Sunday in Las Vegas that saw the Patriots fall to the Raiders in horrific fashion, fall to 7-7, and dip below the playoff threshold, Zolak & Bertrand are focusing on the positive. They posed a simple question: What will be the most positive development to come out of the next three weeks for the Patriots?

Our own Scott Zolak tells you why Mac Jones’ performance needs to be the most positive development to come out of the home stretch.

Mac Jones. It’s Mac Jones to me. And that’s regardless of winning or losing the game, it’s how he plays. And do they throw the ball over 30 times? Can he complete in high twenties? Can he go for 300 yards? Can he throw for one or two touchdowns and have zero picks? It doesn’t feel like it’s trending that way, but. If he doesn’t play well, these final three games and you hit the cement wall, you’re not going to the playoffs. You’re going to sit there all offseason and think, What are they going to do?”

“There’s going to be talk about the quarterback all offseason. So I think there’s going be talk about him regardless of it. But you want to feel good going into the offseason that at least we got our quarterback and he’s taken care of….  I don’t want any of these questions in the offseason. That would make me feel better about the team in the offseason if he goes out against good competition. These are good teams they’re playing.”
