Friday was a busy day for Patriots owner Robert Kraft. He held multiple media sessions, from ‘informal’ press conferences to television appearances.

Kraft’s day started with what

Even though it was mostly off the books, one quote did make its way out, regarding the Patriots’ biggest move of the offseason so far – the hiring of Bill O’Brien as offensive coordinator.

  • “I think he was an excellent choice,” Kraft said, via Perry. “He has a learning-curve experience of our system. He knows Mac Jones. He knows how to build a great offense. And I’m excited to see what happens next year.”

Kraft reaffirmed those beliefs later on in the day, when he appeared on FOX Business with Neil Cavuto. “I’m very happy that we were able to bring in a new offensive coordinator to help develop our young quarterback Mac Jones. I think bringing in Bill O’Brien has been a big plus for our franchise.”

He also spoke further in support of Mac Jones. “We’re blessed to have a great young quarterback in Mac Jones as our quarterback, and I’m a strong believer in him and his development,” Kraft said, when asked if there was ever a possibility of Tom Brady returning to the Patriots as a free agent this offseason. Kraft’s full interview with FOX can be found here.

Early on in the offseason the Patriots let it be known publicly that upgrading the coaching staff was going to be a big priority this offseason. With the staffing moves now (mostly) done, it sounds like the man in charge approves of what he’s seen so far.
