The Patriots have been dealing with some sort of illness going around the locker room over the last few weeks, as evidenced by players being added to and removed from the injury report. On Thursday, starting cornerback Jonathan Jones became the latest player to fall under the weather, missing Thursday's practice despite being present on Wednesday and not listed on the injury report.

Jones isn't the first cornerback to deal with the mystery illness. Jalen Mills and rookie Jack Jones also were limited due to illnesses earlier this season. Running back Damien Harris also missed two days of practice last week with an illness.

Rookie defensive lineman DaMarcus Mitchell has also been dealing with an illness, which caused him to miss practice on Wednesday. He returned to the field on Thursday, but was still listed as limited.

Besides Jones and Mitchell, the Patriots didn't have any other changes from Wednesday's injury report on Thursday. Six other players remain limited - wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee), defensive lineman Christian Barmore (knee), linebackers Anfernee Jennings (back) and Josh Uche (hamstring), safety Kyle Dugger (ankle), and punter Jake Bailey (back).

The Jets' injury report is fully unchanged from Wednesday. Wide receiver Corey Davis (knee), guard Nate Herbig (shin), and defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins (elbow) all missed practice for the second day in a row, while tackle Duane Brown (shoulder) was limited.

With injuries building up on the offensive line (they also have multiple o-line starters on IR), the Jets made a roster move on Thursday signing tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to their practice squad. Duvernay-Tardif was with the Jets at the end of last season after being acquired at the trade deadline, and made seven starts. Tardif, who is a doctor, took the beginning of this season off to complete a medical residency in his home country of Canada.
