On Friday, it was revealed via the NFL transaction wire that the Patriots had suspended rookie cornerback Jack Jones while he was on IR (as well as punter Jake Bailey). The news initially came as a surprise, but we are now learning more about what led to the suspension.

Jones was placed on IR two weeks later.Little more on this—Patriots coach Bill Belichick used it as a teaching moment, and addressed Jones' conduct in a team meeting leading up to the Miami game. There have been no indications to this point that the suspension will have long-term implications for Jones in New England. On Friday, Jones’ agent Jamal Tooson said in a

A five-star recruit coming out of high school, Jones draft stock was impacted by off-field and academic issues during his time in college.
In New England, Jones was one of the Patriots’ most impressive rookies before getting hurt. He allowed 20 catches on 37 targets in 13 games, with six pass breakups and two interceptions including a pick-six.
