  • All week, Patriots fans have been clamoring to see more of Kendrick Bourne after the wide receiver played just two offensive snaps against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. On Friday Bourne spoke to the media for the first time since the game, and seemed to indicate that will be the case.

“Yeah, for sure. I’ve got some plays that I see out there,” Bourne said initially when asked if he expects to be more involved this week. He did backtrack a bit though, following that with, “It was kind of the same last week too but it’s the same.”

  • Bourne told reporters that this week, “felt better. Felt a lot better,” in the sense that he was “just moving well.”

“Just want to do everything right that I’m supposed to do,” Bourne added.

If and when Bourne does play, what will his role look like? “Not much has changed,” Bourne said, when asked about his responsibilities within the offense when he is on the field. “Just doing what they’re asking me to do. Everything is really the same in a sense. Just doing the role they ask me to play, keeping it the same.”

Bourne has managed things this week through all the uncertainty by “just keeping my spirits high,” he said. “Not getting down. Just staying focused, staying in the playbook, staying on top of things I need to be on top of so I can be ready to make plays.”

Will Bourne have the chance to make plays this week? As the Patriots look to get their offense jumpstarted, it would make sense for them to turn to their most dynamic playmaker – assuming he’s on the field. Right now, it sounds like that may be the plan.
