As Tom Brady is set to become a minority owner of the Raiders, his former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has one demand for him.

It’s not a return to the field. Or even joining him on the sideline. Maybe mentoring their third-round QB Aidan O’Connell out of Purdue?

Nope! Not in the slightest.

You need to travel back to back to January 19, 2002, when the Patriots and Raiders collided in the legendary Tuck Rule game to find out what’s on McDaniels’ mind.

  • Tom Brady

Tom Brady spikes the ball after scoring fourth-quarter touchdown in the famous “tuck rule” game against the Raiders in January 2002. Twenty years later, Brady has officially retired from the NFL.
    BRADY MAIN

  • If Brady is going to ever be recognized as a member of the Raiders, he needs to admit that he fumbled when Charles Woodson tackled him.

McDaniels made it clear that it was essential, saying “One hundred percent. No question.”

Yes, after all these years, the Tuck Rule game and Brady’s incomplete pass are still making the Raiders organization delirious. Must be a hard pill to swallow with the Patriots going on to form the greatest dynasty in sports history.

  • McDaniels obviously couldn’t confirm anything until the deal becomes official, but he went on to talk about how exciting the idea of it is.

“I think everybody knows how I feel about Tom (Brady) the person,” McDaniels explained. “So, if that comes to fruition, obviously I’ll be incredibly excited about just him being somebody that’s in Raider Nation and has a vested interest in us doing as well as we can do in trying to bring a championship football team here to Vegas.”

It may be painful to see Brady and McDaniels calling another place home, especially something dubbed Patriots West, but at the least two have been somewhat reunited. Even if it isn’t on the field.
