Joe Mazzulla joined Zolak and Bertrand ahead of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals and discussed, among other things, his love for the 2010 Ben Affleck film, The Town. As someone who watches the movie as much as anybody, Mazzulla expanded on the inspiration he draws from it.

  “The relationship piece, the loyalty to each other, and the other piece of like, you know, everybody has an identity and everyone’s working towards trying to achieve something. Ben Affleck in the role of ‘this is my past, this is where I am, but this is who I want to be.’

  “So I love situations and movies and stories like that of like, you know, this is who I am, This is what I grew up in. But at the same time, I want to be something more. I want to strive for something. And how do you navigate that with the people that you love and care about? And so that’s kind of why I really, really like that movie. It’s a it’s a tug of war of identity”
