Felger: And that’s where we begin. Let’s begin picking apart the Boston Bruins stunningly getting knocked out in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs after their record setting regular season. Who wants to begin?

Mazz: I’ll go. Its devastating too strong a word?

    Jim Murray: Nope.

Mazz: I mean, like we toss that word around a lot, right? Devastating. A devastating defeat. That last night, that was devastating. And in fact, really, not just last night. The whole series, specifically the last three games and there’s a million things you can pick at. But I think that Jim Montgomery crystallized a lot of it: Florida dug in. They dug in. They fought. They bit. They kicked. They scratched. They punched. They jabbed. They did all of that. And fought for every freakin puck and the Bruins didn’t. I don’t know how else you say that, but I think if we were to wrap up or just discuss the biggest and most devastating defeats for Boston sports teams in the 13.5 years we’ve been on the air… oh that’s in the top two or three.

Jim Murray: That’s right up there. You use devastating, I’ll give you some other words: embarrassing, pathetic and typical. I told you it could get worse than game seven against the Blues because I think this is worse than game seven against the Blues. I didn’t think they were going to get there. Mike, you and I were shaking in our boots, “How are the Bruins going to bone us again?”, I didn’t think it would happen in the first effing round up 3-1. That last night, and it’s not just about last night, you got to go back a couple of games. Starting in game five these pukes just giving it away and we’ll get to like the blame pie and all that crap later, that it came to this that they bow out in this first round, absolutely, positively pathetic. I’ll never rag on the Maple Leafs ever again because you know who the Bruins are? The Maple Leafs. They’re the black and gold turd colored Maple Leafs. Big effin losers.

Felger: So here we are. I can’t say I’m all that surprised Mazz! Didn’t we feel this was coming?

Mazz: Well, I felt a little bit that way, too. In some ways it isn’t stunning at all.

Jim Murray: But not this early. This is unbelievable.

Felger: It is unbelievable. But is it?

    Mazz: No.

    Felger: Is it unbelievable?

    Mazz: No.
