Bruins Radio Color Commentator Drives The Radio And TV Broadcast Teams To Toronto
When Sunday’s flight from Boston to Toronto was cancelled due to inclement weather, Boston Bruins radio color commentator Bob Beers loaded up the SUV with his fellow broadcasters for a road trip to Canada.
Broadcasters tend to stick together regardless of their station affiliation, and it really showed on Sunday afternoon.
With the Bruins scheduled to play the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night in game three of the first round of the NHL Playoffs, the guys had devise a way to make it up north for the game.

Fellow 98.5 The Sports Hub play-by-play voice Judd Sirott, along with both NESN broadcasters, Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley packed up their things and hit the road together for a road trip that will never be forgotten.

It’s good to hear that the guys made it up to Toronto safe and sound.
And judging by the time stamp on Edwards’ wife’s tweet and his reported arrival time of midnight, the guys made good time getting up there.

If you’re thinking about how long of a trip it is from Boston to Toronto, here’s your answer.

According to Google Maps, it’s a 550 mile trip from the TD Garden to the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
It should’ve taken the boys a good eight and half hours to get there. But judging by Edwards’ tweets, it took them about eight hours to complete their journey up North. So Beers must have put the pedal to metal, right? Or traffic wasn’t all too bad. Either way, they made good time considering they left on a Sunday afternoon.
Lets just hope the guys have an easier trip home after two games up in Toronto on Monday and Thursday night.
