The Soccer Show: Brad Feldman previews Saturday clash vs. Charlotte
The New England Revolution will close a three-game MLS homestand tonight, when the club hosts Charlotte FC for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Gillette Stadium. Listen to tonight’s match live on 98.5 The Sports Hub with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies calling the contest.
New England, 0-1-4 on the season, is still in search of its first victory of the 2024 MLS campaign. The Revolution collected their first result of the league season in a 1-1 draw with Chicago Fire FC back on March 23.
Charlotte FC, 2-2-2 this season, is under new management with first-year head coach Dean Smith, a former Premier League manager, guiding the Crowns. The Revolution, looking to turn their season around and get back on track, hope a victory over Charlotte will get them back on the upswing.
Feldman, New England’s longtime play-by-play voice, joined D.J. Bean on The Soccer Show this morning to assess the keys to victory for the Revolution in tonight’s match.
“If the Revs are effective with the press, they just have to lean in and grind with their midfield,” Feldman said. “I think the Revs can beat them in the midfield. They just have to win those second balls and quickly send them to Carles Gil, and good things will happen.
“But at home, I think one goal will get you two if you’re the Revs. I think it’s just a little bit of mojo, a little bit of flow, a little bit of confidence, and the Revs are right back where we thought they were at the start of the season six weeks ago, which is one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.”
Today’s episode of The Soccer Show features insight with Feldman, former U.S. Men’s National Team forward Charlie Davies, and former Revolution defender Darrius Barnes, who is now Club President of Charlotte FC’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Crown Legacy FC.
