Noah Syndergaard hurled seven shutout innings for the New York Mets, who grinded out eight runs of their own to top the Boston Red Sox 8-0 on Friday night at Fenway Park.

Syndergaard scattered three hits and three walks in the win, striking out six and lowering his ERA to 3.26. The hits were singles by Ian Kinsler (two) and J.D. Martinez. Mookie Betts singled in the eighth to complete the Red Sox’ only offensive output with their bats.

Jay Bruce led the way with four RBIs for the Mets offense, including a three-run home run in the third. The Mets hit four homers total off Red Sox pitchers, scoring seven of their eight runs by way of the long ball.
