The PGA of America has officially named Keegan Bradley as the captain of the 2025 Ryder Cup. The 45th playing of the Ryder Cup will be held at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York. The selection of Bradley was a bit of a wild card as he’s never had any form of captaincy in the Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup, he’s only 38 years old (he’ll be 39 when the tournament is hosted), and he is still competing weekly on the PGA Tour.
The selection of Bradley as the captain is a risk that could ultimately turn into a massive reward, as the 2025 Cup is an extremely important one for the United States to build chemistry going forward. The United States has not been able to build any Ryder Cup momentum in a very long time. Since the turn of the century there have been 11 Ryder Cup tournaments and the U.S. has a 3-8 record in those cups. They’ve won all of their cups on home soil, which is what 2025 will be….a home game. Getting a win at home in 2025 will be extremely important so the team can go into Europe in 2027, a place they haven’t won since 1993, with control of the Cup.
With the 2025 captain selection all taken care of, here’s a way too early look at 2027 and who could be in control of the team that will look to bring the United States to Ryder Cup glory in Europe for the first time since 1993.
