Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb at the Toucher & Rich 10 year anniversary show
Here are five songs Rich thinks are somewhere between "Bee's Knees" and the "Cat's Pajamas":
1.) “Housefly” by Cory Hanson
From my favorite album of the year, this is what happens when an absolute shredder fronts an Americana band and shreds.
2.) “Kroterveg Te Helvete” by Kvelertak
These are some angry Norwegians. I have no idea what they are saying, but it’s loud and this guy’s voice crushes.
3). “Underwater” by Rufus Du Sol
These guys are playing two shows at MGM this week and I like them so much that I’m going by myself. Who am I kidding- I go to a lot of concerts by myself.
4) “Goon” by Thee Oh Sees, Osees
I have no idea why I like this song but I may have listened to it 50 times in the past week. Two minutes of pure earworm. And oh my word I just saw the video, and that my friend you’re gonna have to search for on your own.
5) “Ghost Ship” by Cory Hanson
Sure I put two songs by the same guy on this list, I told you it was my favorite album of the year. A Tom Petty “Wildflowers” era throwback. And that dueling guitar outro- chef’s kiss.
