— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) March 26, 2023?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Masked Jaylen‘ has been playing some of the best basketball of his career, and that hit a crescendo last week.

In three games between March 21 and 26, Brown averaged 31.7 points per game while shooting 55.9 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from three. He also averaged 8.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. The Celtics went 3-0 in that stretch. For his efforts, the NBA named Brown Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

  • This is the first Player of the Week nod for Jaylen Brown this season, and the third of his career. Brown is the third Celtics player to win the award this year, after Jayson Tatum (three times) and Derrick White (once).

Brown began that week by scoring 27 points in the Celtics’ final game of a six-game road trip shooting 10-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-7 from three as the Celtics topped the Sacramento Kings 132-109. He had another 27 points the next night, as well as seven rebounds and four assists as the Celtics topped the Indiana Pacers 120-95.

His real jaw-dropping performance came to close out the week. Leading the way in Sunday’s 137-93 win over the San Antonio Spurs, Brown scored 41 points (two shy of a season-high) shooting 18-of-29 from the field. He also grabbed 13 rebounds for the double-double.

  • Overall, Brown has been excellent since returning from that facial injury in late February. In the 15 games he’s played  since, he’s averaging 28.5 points per game, shooting 51.4 percent from the floor and 38.8 percent from deep, with 6.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

On the season, Brown is on pace to average a career-high 27 points per game. His 49.4 field goal percentage would also be a career-best, as would his seven rebounds per game.

Brown and the Celtics will be back in action Tuesday night, when they visit the Washington Wizards. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on 105.7 WROR and the BetMGM Sports Hub Celtics Radio Network.
