When Robert Williams is at his best, the Celtics are a very hard team to beat.
Williams certainly was at his best on Sunday night.
The Timelord turned in a forceful performance in Sunday’s Game 4 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, leading the Celtics to a 3-1 series lead with an impactful game on both ends of the floor. He earns the nod as The Sports Hub’s Player of the Game in the Celtics 129-121 victory.
Williams put up a double-double, tallying 13 points with 15 rebounds. He added two steals, two blocks, and three assists before fouling out of the game with less than a minute to play.
After the Celtics were outrebounded by 19 in Game 3, head coach Joe Mazzulla opted for his double big lineup for a large portion of Game 4. Williams played 29 minutes, 10 more than he played on Friday, and helped the Celtics win the rebounding battle 49-42.
His presence also helped clear the way for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who each added 31 points in the winning effort.
