Albert Breer from the MMQB.com joined Toucher & Rich this morning to share his thoughts on the Patriots schedule, which was released last night.

  • Breer discusses the difficulty of predicting which teams will be successful in the later months of the NFL season, but notes that the New England Patriots’ schedule indicates a decline in their star power while highlighting that they will only have one NBC game this season, and for the first time in a long time, they will not be the marquee team in their week one game. Instead, the focus will be on the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts.

  • Breer also observes that the Patriots are often on the marquee for reasons other than just being a successful team. They play the Chiefs and the Steelers in primetime, but those games are about the opponents, not the Patriots. Both Breer and Roche feel that the first four games of the season will be challenging for the Patriots, but if they can go 2-2, they will be in a good position.
