The Patriots’ rough 2024 season continued with a 30-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, dropping them to 3-11. On Toucher & Hardy, the guys broke down the team’s struggles. They pointed out missed opportunities on offense, with rookie QB Drake Maye showing promise despite a bad snap from Ben Brown. The offensive line, especially Sidy Sow and Vederian Lowe, was a major issue, and Joey Sly’s missed field goals added to the frustration. While Maye had a couple of flashes, like a nice deep pass to Kendrick Bourne, Hardy cautioned that the team needs more than just moments of brilliance.

Looking ahead, the guys agreed that the Patriots’ biggest focus should be the draft, with a potential top-three pick allowing them to target a game-changing talent like Travis Hunter. Reiss stressed the need for more than just one player to fix the team’s issues—there’s a lot of work to be done across the roster. With tough games coming up against Buffalo and the Chargers, the outlook remains grim. As Toucher summed it up, “They’re not going to win again this season, and honestly, that might be for the best.”

Hardy noted that while the Patriots seemed to have worked on moving the ball during their bye week, execution fell short. A mishandled snap from Ben Brown led to a botched play, but rookie quarterback Drake Maye showed composure. Jon Wallach pointed out issues along the offensive line, especially Sidy Sow and Vederian Lowe.

Mike Reiss highlighted Maye’s poise, suggesting he could be a foundation for the future despite the line’s struggles.
