Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsIt's time for the latest "Mazz's Tiers"! This week Mazz returns to his more traditional tiers of ranking the teams in the NFL. Where will the local New England Patriots rank this week?
But before the tiers….here are some other things you need to know from the NFL Communications Department...
This week's matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins will feature the top two receivers in terms of receiving yards so far this season. Miami's Tyreek Hill has 814 yards receiving and Philadelphia's A.J. Brown has 672 yards receiving.
The Detroit Lions will look to extend their winning streak to five games this week when they visit the Baltimore Ravens. After starting 1-6 last season, the Lions have won 13 of their last 16. They currently sit at 5-1 on the season.
Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver, Puka Nakua, will look to become the second player in NFL history to record 700 receiving yards in his first seven career games if he can pick up 102 receiving yards on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase is the only player in NFL history to do it.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will look to tie Jason Witten for the fifth most touchdowns by a tight end in NFL History. Kelce will need two touchdowns this week to tie Witten for fifth on the list.
Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones will look to become the first player since 2019 to record a sack in his first six games of the season. Clay Matthews was the last player to record a sack in his first six games of the season when he did it with the Los Angeles Rams.
The New England Patriots will look to win their first game of the season at home this weekend when they host the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots are currently 0-3 at Gillette Stadium in the 2023 season.
