Felger & Mazz

It’s time for the latest “Mazz’s Tiers“. With Mazz out this week, Jim Murray, Cerrone Battle, and Joe Murray put together the latest version of “Mazz’s Tiers”. With the big story in sports currently being related to Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and sports gambling, the guys decided to rank some of the biggest scandals in sports history.

**Please note that this list DOES NOT include athletes involved in murder investigations and sexual or domestic assault investigations**

But before the Tiers, here are some notes on athletes who may appear on the list…

Tiger Woods has the 2nd most major victories amongst men’s professional golfers with 15 major championships. Woods trails only Jack Nicklaus, who has 18 major victories.

Pete Rose has the most hits in the history of Major League Baseball with 4,256 hits. Though he leads the league all-time in hits, Rose is not in the Hall of Fame due to betting on baseball games during his time as a player in the MLB.

Linebacker Manti Te’o spent seven seasons in the National Football League. Te’o spent four years with the San Diego Chargers and three years with the New Orleans Saints after four years in college with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The New England Patriots won 6 Super Bowl Titles with Bill Belichick as Head Coach and Tom Brady as the starting quarterback. However, during their years at the top of the league the team faced a lot of problems with things such as “Spygate” and “Deflategate”.

The Houston Astros won their first World Series title in the 2017 season. The Astros defeated the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers on their way to victory. The Astros would unsuccessfully defend their title the next season when they fell to the Red Sox 4 games to ! in the American League Championship Series.
