Due to his undergoing injury to his retina, Mike Gorman, the team’s renowned play-by-play commentator on NBC Sports Boston, has not received clearance to travel by air. As a result, during the Celtics’ upcoming Eastern Conference first-round playoff series against the Hawks in Atlanta for Games 3 and 4, viewers may hear a different voice providing the play-by-play commentary on TV.

• The team’s radio play-by-play announcer, Sean Grande, has been working on TV broadcasts more often this season. He filled in for Mike Gorman, who reduced his travel schedule this season. However, Grande will not be able to cover the next two games because he has a previous commitment to announce Bellator MMA for Showtime. If the series goes back to Atlanta for Game 6, Grande will be available to work on the TV broadcast.

  In the absence of Grande, Jon Wallach has taken over the radio duties.

• For Games 3 and 4, NBC Sports Boston is searching for a substitute commentator. Brian Scalabrine, who provides analysis on the broadcasts, mentioned on his SiriusXM program on Thursday that he had contacted Eric Collins, the announcer for the Hornets, to see if he could step in.
