Zolak & Bertrand

It’s the debate that has captivated New England over the past week: should the Patriots start Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe at quarterback when they travel to New York to take on the Jets on Sunday?

Although Bill Belichick was mum on the subject during his Wednesday press conference, at least one head coach in town is (sort of) weighing in.

During his weekly interview with Zolak and Bertrand on Wednesday, Celtics interim head coach and Rhode Island native Joe Mazzulla, an unwavering Patriots fan,  voiced his opinion on the QB controversy.

  • Does Patriots fan Joe Mazzulla want Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe to start for the Patriots?

Here is what the coach had to say:

“I’m a Mac Jones guy, I’m a Patriots guy. I love the organization, how they run stuff. And I’m a huge fan”

  • Okay, so that’s not exactly the most earth shattering news, but given what Bill Belichick had to say on the matter on Wednesday afternoon, the answer seems par for the course.
