Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 34 points and Jaylen Brown added 24, as the Boston Celtics held off the Atlanta Hawks for a 134-125 road win at State Farm Arena on Saturday night. Tatum scored 11 of his 34 in the fourth quarter to close things out for the Celtics, who improved to 47-21 on the season.

Hawks point guard Trae Young led all scorers with 35 points and Atlanta had seven players score in double-figures. The Hawks led 38-37 after a wild first quarter, with both teams shooting a combined 31-for-53 (58.5 percent). But the points dried up for Atlanta in the second quarter, as the Celtics continued to power along to 71 first-half points and a 10-point lead at halftime.

Atlanta briefly cut Boston’s lead to five with just under four minutes left in the game, but the C’s responded with a quick 5-0 run to get it back to 10, sparked by a dagger of a three from Al Horford. Young missed a three-point attempt that would have cut the Hawks’ deficit to three within the final minute, and Horford blocked a shot later in the same possession to turn it back over to the C’s, who scored in transition to really put the game away.
