The Patriots loss to the Giants was their 9th loss of the 2023 season, which means they can not finish above .500 for the second consecutive season. It will be the 3rd time in 4 years that the Patriots will finish the season under .500.
Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson ran for 98 yards in the loss. Stevenson led all rushers in the game.
Patriots quarterback Mac Jones threw two interceptions in the loss. Jones is now up to 12 interceptions on the season. Bailey Zappe came in to replace Jones and threw an interception of his own. Zappe has now thrown 2 interceptions this season.
With the loss to the Giants, the Patriots fell in all 5 of their matchups with NFC opponents in 2023. They also lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, and Washington Commanders.
Rookie wide receiver Demario Douglas led all Patriots receivers with 49 reception yards on Sunday. Douglas now leads all Patriots receivers in yards on the season with 410 reception yards.
Rookie placekicker Chad Ryland missed a game-tying field goal late in the loss to the Giants for the Patriots. Ryland has now missed a total of 6 field goal this season for the Patriots. Ryland made his only extra point attempt in the game and is yet to miss an extra point attempt in 2023.
Patriots rookie defensive end Keion White recorded his 1st career sack on Sunday in the loss. White has made a total of 13 tackles during his rookie season in New England.
