Update: Fred Toucher, the host of the Toucher & Rich radio program, has responded to heavy criticism from listeners by making a significant change in his approach. After facing backlash for initially refusing to clean up after his dog, Deuce, during their walks, Fred has now taken responsibility and committed to proper waste disposal.
The negative reception and disapproval from callers and listeners of his radio show have finally prompted Fred to recognize the importance of adhering to societal norms of cleanliness in public spaces. He acknowledges the frustration caused by his previous negligent behavior and has made the decision to rectify the situation. Fred’s willingness to listen and adapt is evident in his response to the audience feedback. By taking on the responsibility of cleaning up after Deuce, he aims to address the concerns raised by his listeners and maintain a respectful approach towards public spaces.
In explaining his change of heart, Fred expressed some initial hesitation. “I have to tell you, I’m almost reticent to do this.” He also shared his frustration with how his comments on the show had resonated with people, leading to complaints and unnecessary conversations with management.
He further revealed that he walks his dog approximately five miles a day, split into two separate walks around different parts of his neighborhood. “People see me and I know like 5% of the people that see me know me from the radio and they know that I’m the guy that doesn’t pick up the dog crap.”
Understanding the increased scrutiny he faces, Fred stated, “So now there is a bull’s eye on me and I am now forced to pick up the dog crap.” To address the issue, he has taken proactive measures by acquiring industrial bags designed to block out odors and heat.
While the reception to this new approach remains unclear, Fred’s willingness to make a change shows a positive step towards a more responsible approach to dog ownership and public cleanliness.
