The veteran wide receiver market is starting to thin out. In the last week Brandin Cooks was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, while

𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: The #Jets seem likely to be signing Odell Beckham.

— Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) March 23, 2023?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports on Thursday indicated Odell Beckham Jr. is trending towards signing with the New York Jets.

That leaves the two remaining big games believed to be available as DeAndre Hopkins from the Cardinals and Jerry Jeudy of the Broncos. Reports have had both of their markets fluctuating in recent days, and on Thursday it was Hopkins’ turn to be in the spotlight.

  • The new reports from Hopkins come from former NFL cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones, who was appearing on the Pat McAfee Show. Jones repeatedly referred to ‘sources’ when talking about Hopkins’ situation.

Over the course of the segment, Jones named five teams on ‘the list’ as in the running for Hopkins. He began by mentioning the Atlanta Falcons, followed by the Baltimore Ravens, the Buffalo Bills, and Las Vegas Raiders. He then added the Patriots at the end of the segment.

As the conversation turned to the Bills, Jones was asked if Hopkins’ could financially be a fit in Buffalo. “He can go to Buffalo – one-year deal. I don’t really think it’s about the money with him right now,” Jones said. “I think he wants to get out. And it’s a big thing, he want to win. Definitely want to win and get a shot.”

  • While Hopkins no longer has a no-trade clause in his contract – is was voided due to his suspension last season – he still likely has some say in where he ends up. Given the way his contract is currently structured he’s expected to get a new deal after being traded, and it wouldn’t make sense for a team to trade for him if they can’t sign him.

Jones wasn’t the only one to link Hopkins to the Bills on Thursday. NFL insider Aaron Wilson, who is based out of Houston and covered Hopkins when he was with the Texans, tweeted on Thursday that “Hopkins’ trade market headlined by Bills,” but did add that Hopkins “has plenty of interest on trade market.”

The other unknown here is what the Cardinals may be seeking in return for Hopkins. The Cowboys gave up a fifth-round and sixth-round pick to land Cooks, which was seen by many as an underpay.
