Thoughts on what Williams did
Mazz: In and of itself, I'm glad someone finally got in Jimmy Butler's face or got in the Heat's face, let me say it that way. I'm glad somebody finally got in the Miami Heat's face. It was stupid, but I'm glad someone did it. So now, again, what did you think was going to happen? This is part of the reason why I didn't want to challenge Butler, because he's unflappable. He's unflappable. He's just going to get even more focused and more amped up and you're better off just kind of letting a sleeping dog lie. But again, at least Grant Williams did something nobody else on that roster has done, which is show some fight. But I think it speaks volumes that nobody lined up behind him.
Jim Murray: Yeah, I think it's the right idea, it's the wrong guy. I mean, Grant Williams is an ass clown and it's since been proven, you know, that nobody got his back after the game. Like his own teammates think that he's an ass clown. But it needed to be someone like Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum. Hell, maybe even Al Horford, I don't know. But not Grant Williams. Right idea, wrong guy. The one thing I just vehemently disagree with is that you "woke Jimmy Butler up"? Like this is why they lost the game? Butler had a better game offensively in game one! Like you didn't wake him up. He was awake. He's been awake. He was awake against Milwaukee.
Felger: He's the best fourth quarter player in the league.
Jim Murray: Yeah. So like that part I disagree with, that it's all on Grant Williams. The worst look of any of this is that nobody got his back.
Felger: Whether he was right or wrong, that's your teammate, right?
Jim Murray: You fight on that lie.
Felger: You take the side of Jimmy Butler over your teammate? That's telling.
