Felger: Mazz wrote in his email exchange, “obviously, I didn’t think Jones was great, despite the lack of protection. Felt like he missed some throws, not that it mattered. Just to be clear, all caps, “I’M OUT ON MAC JONES”. Not sure Zappe is the answer either, I’d start looking for a new quarterback. This guy is as middling as middling can be.

Audio Clip: “He’s not the guy, Mike”.

Jim Murray: Welcome friend, we’ve been waiting for you.

    Mazz: Seriously, I’m not joking.

    Felger: So yesterday did it.

Mazz: Yesterday was the straw that broke the camel’s back. But we’ve given it plenty of time. And I admit he was under pressure a lot. The offensive line’s horrible. It’s not as bad as Indianapolis is, but it wasn’t good. And I don’t know that I’ve actually said this in the last few weeks or several weeks, going back to the beginning of the year, but the bottom line is, for me, I don’t think he handles pressure well. I don’t think he does. I don’t think he ever has. I’m not sure he ever handled pressure at Alabama. How do you know? So I don’t think you can play in the NFL if you can’t handle pressure. And by that, I mean, you know, guys in your face, you’re going to have to throw with guys in your face and, you know, with a collapsing pocket, or you’re going to have to be able to create by running. I don’t think he’s a good enough athlete to play the position. I don’t. And I include arm strength in that. I’m not sure that he processes the way everyone thinks he does. And, you know, I see Zappe go in there and I feel like Zappe processes as well or better than Mac Jones does and he’s been here for 10 minutes. So I haven’t seen any real improvement in Mac Jones. And look, you know, could he play in the league somewhere? Probably. Are you going to go anywhere with him? No, because I don’t think he can ever bail you out. And so I’m done. I just, if they keep stick with this kid, they’re not going anywhere.

Felger: Mazz is out on Mac Jones.

Jim Murray: This like warms my heart.
