The Felger and Mazz Big Board is officially back for the 2024 NFL Draft! With the New England Patriots slated to draft at 3rd overall in this year’s draft, the Big Board will be more important than ever before! Below are the outside linebackers who were hit on the Big Board! 

 

But before this year’s Outside Linebacker selections, here’s a look at who the Big Board has hit on in the past!

    Here are some strengths and weaknesses courtesy of NFL.com

    Strengths 

    • History of playing for winning programs in high school and college.
    • Sudden hands are first into blocker’s frame as edge-setter.
    • Athleticism to soak up play-extending quarterbacks with his secondary rush.

    Weaknesses

    • Below-average anchor to prevent being displaced by force.
    • Needs better play strength to improve block take-on.
    • Doesn’t always play with ideal urgency when not directly challenged.

    Strengths 

    • First three steps into rush are speedy and relatively long.
    • Uses hesitations and head fakes to create uncertainty for pass protectors.
    • Impressive closing speed to chase down runners and quarterbacks.

    Weaknesses

    • Lean through lower body and lacks necessary play strength.
    • Unable to press defenders out of his frame and separate from clinches.
    • Inside rush moves are missing leg drive to push through the inside edge.

    Here are some strengths and weaknesses courtesy of NFL.com 

    Strengths 

    • Outstanding career production, with 45.5 TFLs, 30.5 sacks and five forced fumbles.
    • Sets up inside rush move with hard upfield push off the snap.
    • Violent hands help grease the edge at the top of the rush.

    Weaknesses

    • Can become too reliant on power in his rush approach.
    • Will need to prove he can stack blocks and set a firm edge.
    • Hard-charging play style will lead to missed tackles.
