  • On Monday night, multiple reports indicated that Hopkins left Tennessee unsigned, continuing his free agency. “DeAndre Hopkins left the Titans facility late this afternoon after spending hours with the players and staff,”

The meeting apparently went well but no deal was struck today, per sources.

Hopkins is expected to take more
visits with teams, that could of course always change.

UPDATE: Multiple reports have since indicated Hopkins will visit with the Patriots on Thursday.

  • On the surface, this is all good news for the Patriots. Hopkins remains available despite having met with another team, and they reportedly have the next shot at hosting him. If they are really motivated to sign him, they have the financial flexibility to offer him enough money to convince him to sign on the spot and forgo further visits.

It also feels like there’s a certain spin coming from Hopkins’ representatives in this report. They seem to be letting the Titans know that despite things well Hopkins will keep looking and maybe even expand his search, perhaps hoping the Titans will up their offer to get him back in the building.

Either way, the Patriots – pending new information – seem to be up next for Hopkins. Will they be the final stop on his free agency tour as well? That should be the goal.
