Ever since DeAndre Hopkins took his free agent visit to New England late last week, things have been relatively quiet surrounding the 31-year-old five-time All-Pro. It wasn’t until Thursday morning – a week after the second day of Hopkins’ visit – that we got our next update.

Initially, it was reported that Hopkins might take his time before deciding where to sign. Now, it looks like that will indeed be the case.

  • According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, fans should “be very patient here,” when it comes to Hopkins making a decision. “This isn’t something that is going to go down in the next 24-48 hours,” she continued.

What’s the hold-up? Russini explains that “Hopkins is going over some of the offers from both of those teams, the Titans [who he also met with] and the Patriots. He’s mulling over and trying to come out with a decision with what he wants to do.”

  • At this point, it makes sense for Hopkins to wait until close to if not into training camp to sign. Injuries in camp could lead to more teams bidding for his services, increasing his market.

In the meantime, the waiting game continues. Expect any ‘news’ on Hopkins to be nothing more than rumors in the near future.
