The National Football League (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), and National Hockey League (NHL) are considered the four major sports in America. Some cities have seen their teams achieve loads of success, while other cities are left suffering year after year without championships. Below is a list of the most successful cities in the four major sports since 2010!

But before the list, here are some of the most successful teams in sports….

The Boston Celtics have the most championships in the NBA with 18. The Celtics recently broke the tie with the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers who now sit second all-time with 17 titles.

The Montreal Canadiens are the most successful team in the history of the NHL with 24 Stanley Cups. The Canadiens are currently in a 31 year drought with their last Stanley Cup coming in 1993.

The New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers are tied for the most Super Bowl victories with 6. The Patriots have a 6-5 all-time record in the Super Bowl, while the Steelers have a 6-2 all-time record.

The New York Yankees have won an MLB record 27 World Series championships. Their last championship was won in 2009 when they defeated the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Stanley Cup was first awarded in 1893. It was donated by Lord Stanley of Preston who was the 6th Governor General of Canada.

The Vince Lombardi Trophy is awarded to the Super Bowl Champion. It was named after former NFL Head Coach Vince Lombardi. Lombardi was the head coach of the Green Bay Packers when they won Super Bowl’s I and II.
