The Celtics’ pursuit of their 18th NBA championship finally has a starting date to its name, as the NBA unveiled the complete schedule for the 2023-24 season Thursday.
For the Celtics, the 2023-24 campaign will begin in New York, and with a primetime showdown against the Knicks. The game will be a ‘homecoming’ of sorts for the Celtics’ newest addition, 7-foot-3 big man Kristaps Porzingis, who started his NBA career with the Knicks and is coming to Boston after a career-year with the Wizards.
The Celtics-Knicks showdown will be one of a staggering 24 games the Celtics will have on national TV during the 2023-24 NBA season, with national TV showdowns against the Warriors, Nuggets, and a Christmas Day meeting with the Lakers also on the agenda for the national audience this season.
Boston also won’t have to wait long to renew their rivalry with the Heat, as the sides will meet in the Green’s second game of the season, and with the head-to-head with Miami serving as the C’s home opener at TD Garden.
