For just the seventh time since 1972, the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees were successful trading partners, with Worcester outfielder Greg Allen shipped to New York for pitching prospect Diego Hernandez.
The move came as a result of the 30-year-old Allen’s upcoming ‘upward mobility clause’ with the organization and with the Red Sox not having a spot available for the speedy outfielder.
