David Pastrnak is The Peterson School’s Hardest Working Player of the Week
Even after coming in second to only Connor McDavid in last year’s Hart Trophy race, the Bruins’ David Pastrnak has taken his game to whole ‘nother level this season.
There’s no denying that Pastrnak has been the B’s MVP from the jump, and that when he records a point, the Bruins tend to have themselves a pretty solid day. But with the Bruins on their most important back-to-back of the season last week, beginning with a winner-grabs-first showdown with the Panthers and concluding with a head-to-head with the rival Lightning, Pastrnak once again wowed. And it was enough to earn Pastrnak the nod as this week’s Hardest Working Player of the Week, as brought to you by The Peterson School.
Beginning with Boston’s win over the Panthers, Pastrnak managed to be on the ice for all four of the Black and Gold’s tallies in the victory, and played difference maker on pretty much all of them. When Charlie McAvoy opened up the scoring for the B’s, it was Pastrnak who came through with a solid reverse hit on the Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk to keep possession in Boston’s favor.
Pastrnak then got in on the forecheck and forced a turnover by Florida defenseman Niko Mikkola, and got himself back to the front of the Florida net for a putaway that knotted things up at 2-2.

And with the Bruins looking for the go-ahead tally, Pastrnak came through with a tremendous spin-and-shoot towards the Florida net mouth, where the puck bounced off Pavel Zacha and in for the game-winning marker.

In what was a three-game week for No. 88 and the Bruins, Pastrnak finished with one goal and three points, while his plus-4 rating was tied with Zacha for the best mark among all Black and Gold skaters.
